1. Who we are
Rendez is a private concierge service for couples in the New York / New Jersey metro area, including Jersey City, Hoboken, and Manhattan. When you sign up, you create an account with us; when you ask us to book an evening, we use a set of trusted partners (listed below) to do the work on your behalf. Rendez (operated by Scott Hom) is the entity behind the service. We can be reached at support@getrendez.com.
2. What we collect
- Account information. Your email and name, set when you sign up with email and password or a Google sign-in.
- Taste profile. The cuisines, budget range, vibe, dietary preferences, and neighborhoods you choose during onboarding so we can plan evenings you’ll actually enjoy.
- Booking history. The date plans we generate, the reservations you authorize, and the outcomes of those calls.
- Payment metadata. Your Stripe customer ID and subscription status. Rendez never sees or stores your credit-card number. Stripe handles all card data directly.
- Call recordings. When our concierge calls a restaurant on your behalf, the call is recorded by our voice-calling provider for quality and dispute purposes. Recordings are retained for up to 30 days, then deleted.
- Device and usage analytics. When you visit our marketing site, we use a privacy-respecting product- analytics tool to understand which pages people read. You can decline this with the cookie banner, and we honor that choice.
3. How we use it
To plan the evening you asked for and call the restaurant on your behalf.
To send you confirmations, reminders, booking status updates, plan suggestions, and follow-ups by email and, if you’ve opted in, by SMS text message. SMS frequency varies based on your reservation activity and is purely transactional. Up to 8 messages per month. We never send marketing or promotional text messages. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply. You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP to any text message, or by toggling off SMS notifications in your account settings.
To handle billing (via Stripe).
To resolve disputes. If a restaurant says we never called or said something we didn’t, the recording is the source of truth.
To improve the service quietly, in aggregate. We don’t run ad-targeting and we don’t sell your information. We share data with the categories of subprocessors listed in §4 only as needed to deliver the service, under their respective privacy terms, not for advertising or for any third party’s independent use.

Each of these subprocessors is bound by their own published privacy policy and contracted to use your information only as needed to deliver the Rendez service. We share with them only what each category needs to do its job, and nothing more.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in data is used solely to deliver the transactional messages you’ve consented to receive and is shared only with our SMS delivery subprocessor (Twilio) for that purpose.
5. Call recording policy
Our concierge leads with the reservation request and, if the venue asks who’s calling, identifies itself as Rendez. The voice is synthetic. If anyone on the call asks whether they’re speaking with a human, the concierge will acknowledge it’s an automated agent and continue. How the concierge opens a call is described on our AI Disclosure page.
We are a party to every call we place on your behalf. New Jersey and New York are one-party-consent states for call recording, and we provide that consent. Recordings are stored by our voice-calling provider and retained for up to 30 days. We don’t sell recordings, share them with third parties for marketing, or use them to train models we deploy. Recordings are processed by our voice-calling and voice-synthesis providers under their respective terms; we direct them not to use recordings for purposes beyond delivering our service.
6. How long we keep it
- Account and booking data: kept while your account is active. After you delete your account, we remove your data within a reasonable period, typically within 30 days.
